Puding Roti yang sempurna mestilah mempunyai bahagian atas yang sedikit garing, manakala bahagian dalamnya lembut dan penuh dengan rasa lemak susu, serta disirami sos karamel yang likat dan keemasan.

A. Bahan Puding Roti (Bread Pudding):
- 8-10 keping Roti Putih (Dicarik atau potong dadu)
(8-10 slices White Bread (Torn or cubed)) - 2 cawan Susu Cair (Evaporated Milk)
(2 cups Evaporated Milk) - 2 biji Telur
(2 Eggs) - 4 sudu besar Gula Pasir
(4 tbsp Granulated Sugar) - 1 sudu kecil Esen Vanila
(1 tsp Vanilla Essence) - 2 sudu besar Mentega (Dicairkan)
(2 tbsp Butter (Melted)) - Sedikit Kismis atau Cip Coklat (Opsyenal)
(A bit of Raisins or Chocolate Chips (Optional))
B. Bahan Sos Karamel (Caramel Sauce):
- 1/2 cawan Gula Pasir
(1/2 cup Granulated Sugar) - 1/2 cawan Air Panas (Hati-hati semasa menuang)
(1/2 cup Hot Water (Be careful when pouring)) - 1 sudu besar Mentega
(1 tbsp Butter) - 1 sudu besar Tepung Jagung (Dibancuh dengan sedikit air)
(1 tbsp Cornstarch (Mixed with a bit of water))
Cara Penyediaan: (Instructions)
- Sediakan Roti: Susun roti yang telah dicarik ke dalam loyang yang telah disapu mentega. Taburkan kismis di celah-celah roti jika suka.
(1. Prepare Bread: Arrange the torn bread in a buttered baking dish. Sprinkle raisins between the bread layers if desired.) - Bancuh Susu: Dalam mangkuk lain, campurkan susu cair, telur, gula, esen vanila, dan mentega cair. Kacau rata sehingga gula larut.
(2. Mix Milk Base: In another bowl, combine evaporated milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla essence, and melted butter. Whisk until sugar dissolves.) - Rendam & Bakar: Tuangkan bancuhan susu ke atas roti. Tekan-tekan sedikit supaya roti meresap cecair. Bakar dalam ketuhar pada suhu 180°C selama 30-40 minit atau sehingga bahagian atas nampak keemasan.
(3. Soak & Bake: Pour the milk mixture over the bread. Press down slightly so the bread absorbs the liquid. Bake at 180°C for 30-40 minutes or until the top is golden.) - Masak Sos Karamel: Masak gula pasir dalam kuali sehingga cair dan bertukar warna perang keemasan (karamel). Tuangkan air panas perlahan-lahan (awas, ia akan memercik). Masukkan mentega dan bancuhan tepung jagung. Kacau sehingga sos menjadi pekat dan licin.
(4. Cook Caramel Sauce: Melt sugar in a pan until it turns golden brown (caramel). Slowly pour in hot water (be careful of splashes). Add butter and cornstarch mixture. Stir until thick and smooth.) - Hidang: Siramkan sos karamel ke atas puding roti yang masih panas atau suam sebelum dihidangkan.
(5. Serve: Drizzle the caramel sauce over the warm bread pudding before serving.)
