(Smoked Beef in Spicy Turmeric Coconut Gravy)

Bahan-bahan (Ingredients)
- 300g daging salai – dihiris nipis
(300g smoked beef – thinly sliced) - 2 cawan santan pekat
(2 cups thick coconut milk) - 1 biji ubi kentang – dipotong mengikut citarasa
(1 potato – cut to preference) - 2 batang serai – diketuk
(2 stalks lemongrass – bruised) - 1 helai daun kunyit – dicarit
(1 turmeric leaf – torn) - Bahan Tumbuk: 15-20 biji cili padi (ikut pedas) & 2 inci kunyit hidup
(Pounded Ingredients: 15-20 bird’s eye chilies (to taste) & 2 inches fresh turmeric)
Cara-cara (Instructions)
- Masukkan bahan tumbuk, serai, dan sedikit air ke dalam periuk. Masak sehingga air sedikit kering untuk hilangkan bau mentah kunyit.
(Add pounded ingredients, lemongrass, and a bit of water into a pot. Cook until the water slightly dries up to remove the raw turmeric smell.) - Masukkan daging salai dan ubi kentang. Gaul rata.
(Add the smoked beef and potato. Mix well.) - Tuangkan santan pekat dan sentiasa kacau kuah supaya santan tidak pecah.
(Pour in the thick coconut milk and stir constantly to prevent the coconut milk from curdling.) - Masukkan daun kunyit dan perasakan dengan garam secukup rasa.
(Add the turmeric leaf and season with salt to taste.) - Masak sehingga ubi kentang empuk dan kuah menjadi sedikit pekat sebelum ditutup api.
(Cook until the potato is tender and the gravy thickens slightly before turning off the heat.)
