Len Chee Kang atau Laychi Kang adalah pencuci mulut herba tradisional yang sangat popular di Malaysia, terutamanya untuk menyejukkan badan. Ia mempunyai keseimbangan rasa manis yang lembut daripada gula batu dan tekstur pelbagai daripada bahan-bahan herba yang berkhasiat.

Bahan-Bahan: (Ingredients)

  • 50g Biji Teratai (Len Chee) (Dibuang tgh & direbus empuk)
    (50g Lotus Seeds (Core removed & boiled until tender))
  • 50g Mata Kucing/Longan Kering
    (50g Dried Longan)
  • 5-8 biji Buah Kurma Merah
    (5-8 Dried Red Dates)
  • 1 sudu besar Biji Selasih (Direndam sehingga kembang)
    (1 tbsp Basil Seeds (Soaked until expanded))
  • 1 keping Katira/Getah Anggur (Direndam semalaman)
    (1 piece Gum Tragacanth (Soaked overnight))
  • 5-8 biji Buah Kundur (Manisan)
    (5-8 pieces Candied Winter Melon)
  • 100g Kacang Tanah (Goreng tanpa minyak & buang kulit)
    (100g Toasted Peanuts (Skin removed))
  • 2 helai Daun Pandan (Disimpul)
    (2 Pandan Leaves (Knotted))
  • Gula Batu atau Gula Perang secukup rasa
    (Rock Sugar or Brown Sugar to taste)
  • 1.5 liter Air
    (1.5 liters Water)
  • Bahan tambahan (opsional): Cincau, Malva Nut (Kembang Semangkuk), atau Telur Puyuh
    (Optional: Grass jelly, Malva Nut, or Quail eggs)

Cara Penyediaan: (Instructions)

  1. Rebus Air: Masukkan air, daun pandan, kurma merah, dan buah kundur ke dalam periuk. Biarkan mendidih sehingga aroma pandan keluar.
    (1. Boil Water: Add water, pandan leaves, red dates, and candied winter melon into a pot. Bring to a boil until the pandan fragrance is released.)
  2. Masukkan Herba: Masukkan longan kering dan biji teratai. Reneh di atas api sederhana sehingga longan kembang dan air bertukar warna keperangan.
    (2. Add Herbs: Add dried longan and lotus seeds. Simmer over medium heat until the longan expands and the water turns slightly brown.)
  3. Perasakan: Masukkan gula batu mengikut tahap kemanisan yang anda suka. Kacau sehingga larut.
    (3. Season: Add rock sugar according to your preferred sweetness. Stir until dissolved.)
  4. Campurkan Bahan Lembut: Masukkan katira yang telah kembang dan biji selasih. Masak sebentar selama 2-3 minit.
    (4. Mix Soft Ingredients: Add the soaked gum tragacanth and basil seeds. Cook briefly for 2-3 minutes.)
  5. Hidangan: Boleh dihidangkan panas-panas atau sejuk bersama ais. Taburkan kacang tanah goreng sejurus sebelum dihidang untuk mengekalkan kerangupan.

Tips:

  • Penyediaan Biji Teratai: Pastikan tunas hijau di tengah biji teratai dibuang kerana rasanya sangat pahit.
    (Lotus Seed Prep: Ensure the green core inside the lotus seed is removed as it tastes very bitter.)
  • Kacang Tanah: Sentiasa masukkan kacang paling akhir supaya ia tidak menjadi lembek di dalam kuah.
