(Indonesian Yellow Rice Recipe – Fragrant, Savoury & Glossy)

Bahan-Bahan: (Ingredients)
- 3 cawan Beras (Basmathi atau Beras Putih biasa) – Dicuci & ditoskan
(3 cups Rice (Basmathi or Long Grain) – Washed & drained) - 4 cawan Santan (Cair sedikit)
(4 cups Coconut Milk (Slightly thin)) - 3 cm Kunyit Hidup – Diparut & ambil airnya (Atau 1 sudu besar serbuk kunyit)
(3 cm Fresh Turmeric – Grated & juiced (Or 1 tbsp turmeric powder)) - 2 batang Serai – Diketuk
(2 stalks Lemongrass – Bruised) - 3 helai Daun Salam (Rahsia aroma Indonesia asli)
(3 Indonesian Bay Leaves (The secret to authentic Indonesian aroma)) - 2 helai Daun Pandan – Disimpul
(2 Pandan Leaves – Knotted) - 1 inci Lengkuas – Diketuk
(1 inch Galangal – Bruised) - 1 sudu kecil Garam & sedikit perahan Limau Nipis (untuk kilatkan nasi)
(1 tsp Salt & a squeeze of Lime Juice (to make the rice glossy))
Cara Penyediaan: (Instructions)
- Campurkan Bahan: Masukkan beras ke dalam periuk nasi (rice cooker). Tuangkan santan, air kunyit, serai, daun salam, daun pandan, lengkuas, dan garam.
(Mix Ingredients: Place rice in the rice cooker. Pour in coconut milk, turmeric juice, lemongrass, bay leaves, pandan leaves, galangal, and salt.) - Kacau Rata: Gaul semua bahan supaya warna kunyit sekata. Perahkan sedikit limau nipis—ini rahsia untuk buat warna kuningnya nampak ‘hidup’ dan berkilat.
(Stir Well: Mix everything so the turmeric colour is even. Squeeze in some lime juice— secret to make the yellow hue look vibrant and glossy.) - Masak Nasi: Tekan butang ‘Cook’ dan biarkan nasi masak seperti biasa.
(Cook the Rice: Press the ‘Cook’ button and let the rice cook as usual.) - Kacau & Wap: Sebaik sahaja nasi masak (butang ‘Warm’), jangan terus buka tudung. Biarkan selama 10 minit, kemudian gemburkan nasi perlahan-lahan menggunakan garpu supaya butir nasi tidak patah.
(Stir & Steam: Once the rice is done (switched to ‘Warm’), do not open the lid immediately. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then gently fluff the rice with a fork so the grains don’t break.)
Tips:
Nasi Kuning ini sangat ‘Luxury’ jika dihidangkan bersama Ayam Goreng Berempah, Telur Dadar hiris, dan Sambal Terasi.

Jika anda menggunakan beras Basmathi, pastikan rendam beras selama 20 minit terlebih dahulu untuk hasil yang lebih panjang dan cantik.
